Weight Loss Diet
If you want to lose weight you must follow a weight loss diet. Like the saying goes, “you can diet and lose weight, but you can’t out train a bad diet”! This is so true as I have witnessed it over many years in the gym. I used to work at a gym for 4 years and I would see people come in and work hard every day, yet year after year they would not lose weight or even worse, gain weight! Without a doubt the diet would be the main culprit here.
It seems that the general population is confused when it comes to dieting to lose weight. I can say from my years of experience and the experience of other trainers is that the low carb approach works the best. Most of the population is not carb tolerant and will gain weight when they consume them. As for the other 20% they can eat as much of them as they and not gain a pound! Myself and many a client are jealous of these people!
The beauty of the low carb approach is that there is no calorie counting or weighing food. It is very simplistic and works extremely well in most people. You can expect to lose anywhere from 10-20 pounds in the first month and I even had a couple of clients lose up to 30 pounds, but once again those are not typical results.
So how exactly do you do it? Well its very simple and straight forward. As my mentor Charles Poliquin has said ” if it doesn’t run, fly, or swim and it isn’t green then don’t eat it!”
You cannot do a low fat, low carb diet at the same time as that will not produce results. So you must supplement your diet with fish oil taking it with meals. I would take at least 2g with each meal and as high as 15. Once again this will be dependant on how much weight you have to lose. The more weight, the more fish oil.
Water is extremely important as well and a person should be consuming between .6-.7 ounces/lb of bodyweight. Weight loss will not be optimal if you are not hydrated. To get a full outline of the diet sign up for the Fat Loss Furnace Diet!
